With the publication of the eighth and final collection, the journey of the WABIN Contest – Wigwam Italian Press Award comes to an end. The initiative, developed within the framework of the Interreg Italy-Slovenia WABIN project, was dedicated to young communicators under the age of 25.
This final collection marks the conclusion of a rich and participatory process that, over the past months, involved students and young authors from Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, and Slovenia in the creation of articles, reflections, and in-depth contributions focused on water and environmental sustainability.
Also in this final publication, water is explored through different and complementary perspectives: as a natural resource to be protected, a fundamental component of landscapes and biodiversity, a cultural memory of local territories, and a strategic resource for the future of communities. The collected contributions address themes related to aquatic ecosystems, climate change, sustainable practices, environmental protection, and the relationship between people and territory, confirming the ability of younger generations to critically and consciously interpret contemporary challenges.
The award ceremony for the WABIN sections of the Wigwam Italian Press Award already took place in recent months, recognizing the most significant works and providing an important moment of public acknowledgment for the young participants. Over time, the published collections progressively made the selected contributions available, creating a shared archive of experiences, ideas, and stories connected to the value of water.
