The energy efficiency of buildings is now a strategic lever for environmental sustainability and for the competitiveness of companies and professionals in the construction sector. Reducing consumption, improving building performance and integrating innovative energy management tools means responding in a concrete way to the environmental and regulatory challenges affecting the construction sector.
This is the context for the workshop on ‘Energy efficiency in construction’, scheduled for Wednesday, 5 February 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at the Jožef Stefan Institute – Podgorica Reactor Centre in Ljubljana.
An event for experts and professionals in the sector
The meeting is open to experts and professionals interested in energy, sustainable development and energy efficiency in buildings, with a specific focus on the ethical aspects of using artificial intelligence in energy management. The workshop provides an opportunity for expert discussion on how to integrate innovative and responsible approaches into design and operational practices in the construction sector.
The speaker's contribution
The speaker at the meeting will be Boris Sučić, who will explore the topic of ‘Energy efficiency in buildings in the context of the circular economy’. The presentation will offer a systemic interpretation of the role of energy efficiency within circular construction models, highlighting how optimising consumption and intelligent energy management can contribute to reducing environmental impact and improving the overall performance of buildings.
A real opportunity for updating
The workshop is part of the Circular.Buildings project's training programme and is aimed in particular at construction companies, designers, technicians and professionals who wish to update their skills on key issues for the future of the sector. Participation allows participants to acquire useful knowledge to consciously address the transition to more efficient, sustainable and innovation-oriented building models.
