On September 13th 2023, the kick-off meeting of the cross-border project ENGREEN 2 - CAPITALISING GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT IN THE IT-SI CROSS-BORDER REGION, co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 programme, took place.
Cross-border cooperation is essential as there are unique ecosystems on both sides of the border and only by creating synergies will it be possible to provide the protection they need. The project will develop common guidelines for the effective management of green infrastructures. Education and awareness-raising on the importance of biodiversity and nature conservation will take place in the project area.
The lead partner of the project is Škocjan Caves Park, Slovenia. The other project partners are Comune di San Dorligo della Valle - Municipality of Dolina, GAL Venezia Orientale and Municipality of Hrpelje-Kozina.
