As part of the “Ero-STOP” project, on 3rd and 4th October, VeGAL organised a bike press tour within its communication activities in the VeGAL area. Named “Salty Lands”, the tour was developed through collaboration with the La Velostazione APS Association and explored a highly iconic area related to the project's themes: the northern lagoon of Venice, in the municipality of Cavallino-Treporti.
Cycling through the peninsula of the Municipality of Cavallino-Treporti, suspended between the Venice lagoon and the Adriatic Sea, we explored floodplains, market gardening, and sandy beaches in the company of six journalists on a day dedicated entirely to discovering the Venetian lagoon district — a fragile and extraordinary territory where nature, history, and human activities coexist in an increasingly delicate balance.
The aim was to approach the issue of soil erosion and climate change from an original perspective, identifying innovative strategies to protect the environment and strengthen the resilience of local communities.
It was an experience of in-depth learning, discussion, and discovery, designed to inform and raise awareness about the value of the territory and conservation and safeguarding initiatives.
