In celebration of World Wetlands Day this year, Naravni rezervat Ć kocjanski zatok and the CRS of Koper (RRC Koper) are organizing a meeting for the partners of the POSEIDONE project.
Every year on February 2, World Wetlands Day is observed, highlighting various ecosystems such as flowing and stagnant waters, rivers, riparian areas, marshes, floodplains, and water-defined forests.
The meeting includes presentations of project activities by the project partners and reports on administrative and financial activities, including the first financial statement.
Following the meeting, the POSEIDONE project partners will take part in a guided tour of the Val Stagnon Natural Reserve. Additionally, in collaboration with Elvira Vatovec Prade Elementary School, under the guidance of Ksenia Pfeifer, an art and nature workshop will be organized for elementary school children to emphasize the importance of wetland conservation.
The Val Stagnon Natural Reserve covers 122 hectares of brackish wetland. This unique habitat includes a brackish lagoon surrounded by reed beds and a freshwater marsh with marshy meadows, wetlands, and thermophilic shrubs. The reserve's diversity is reflected in all seasons, providing a new experience for visitors each time.
