🚀 Registration of Training Videos Completed: Practical Tools for Sustainable Construction
The video recording phase for the training modules planned by the Circular.Buildings project has recently been concluded. This milestone represents a significant enhancement in the offering of practical tools, designed to concretely support construction companies and professionals in their transition toward more sustainable and innovative operational models.
The initiative produced a total of 20 short videos, true "training pills," resulting from the collaboration between Italian and Slovenian partners. To reinforce the project's cross-border dimension, all content will be available in dual language (Italian and Slovenian). The choice of this concise format was specifically made to respond pragmatically to the needs of micro and small businesses and technical professionals who operate in high-intensity contexts and require content that is clear, targeted, and easily accessible, even on smartphones.
The Essence of Circularity and Innovation
A significant portion of these videos is dedicated to explaining, in a simple and concrete way, the fundamental importance of circular construction within the building sector. The videos guide the user toward a deep understanding of what is meant by material circularity, what happens to products and components at the end of their life cycle, and why the comprehensive management of a building's life cycle is no longer a choice but a strategic element. Through examples and best practices, a broader vision of the construction intervention is promoted—one that goes beyond the construction site phase to consider, upstream, durability, reuse strategies, the quality of materials used, and waste reduction.
The training program then extends to the topic of digital innovation, with a specific focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied to the construction industry. It is clarified why innovation represents a fundamental lever, especially for micro and small businesses, by showcasing practical examples of AI-based tools and applications such as predictive maintenance of systems. With a view toward completeness, the initiative does not merely explore the potential but also dedicates ample space to the risks and ethical and practical implications linked to the use of artificial intelligence, thus fostering a conscious and informed approach.
Data, Energy, and Collaboration
The video series also addresses elements crucial to the transition, such as energy efficiency and the central role of renewable energy sources. This technical content is complemented by a reading of the current context, with in-depth analysis on state-of-the-art data and the specific characteristics of the building stock in Italy and Slovenia. These analyses allow professionals and businesses to situate their operational choices within a shared cross-border scenario, one comprised of common critical issues but also significant development opportunities.
The offer is completed by a series of contents dedicated to essential operational and regulatory tools, such as BIM, digital passports and material certification, and the legislation on construction and demolition waste. Also included is a focus on the active role of private citizens undertaking renovation works, whose awareness directly impacts the technical and economic decisions of the sector.
The videos are configured as a first, fundamental level of orientation on complex topics, designed to help businesses and professionals interpret the change underway and fully understand its operational implications, offering concrete, accessible, and perfectly coherent support with the real needs of the cross-border construction sector.
