On 26 May 2026, within the framework of the KRAS-CARSO II project, in cooperation with ORA Krasa in Brkinov and PromoturismoFVG, the final event for pupils of the primary schools Dolina, Repen, Sežana, and the branch schools Senožeče and Vremski Britof was successfully carried out. The purpose of the event was to explore and appreciate the natural and cultural heritage of the Karst through experiential learning and the active participation of pupils. Particular emphasis was also placed on becoming familiar with the Kras–Carso Geopark.
Within the activities in Lipica, pupils took part in various group games and tasks that encouraged observation, cooperation, communication, and the consolidation of acquired knowledge. Special emphasis was placed on learning through play, during which pupils actively identified karst characteristics and connected new insights with the content they encountered throughout the day. After the completion of the first part of the programme, a snack with local delicacies was organized for all participants in front of the Vilenica Cave. At individual locations, pupils also received worksheets that enabled additional reinforcement of their knowledge about the Karst, its natural features, and cultural heritage.
The event took place under professional guidance and in a safe environment. Pupils showed great interest, actively participated in all activities, and acquired new knowledge about the karst world, its specific features, and the importance of preserving natural and cultural heritage. The final event successfully achieved the project’s set objectives, as it contributed to greater awareness of the core Karst area, encouraged mutual cooperation among schools, and strengthened awareness of the importance of sustainable protection of natural and cultural heritage.
