On Friday, 12 June 2026, the Final Networking Event of the Kras4us Project took place at the Pr' Nanetovih Promotion and Congress Centre in the Škocjan Caves Park. The event marked the project's achievements and celebrated the successful cooperation of all partners and stakeholders involved.
Participants were presented with the results of the pilot actions for the restoration of grasslands and dry-stone walls, a study on monitoring amphibian populations following the restoration of ponds in the Škocjan Caves Park, research on the effects of wildfires on the bird communities of the Karst region, and a study of pollinators in Karst grasslands. The programme also featured the story of the Marsh Fritillary butterfly – a battle between two fires – as well as the unified system and cross-border laboratory Kras Carso 2045. The event concluded with the premiere screening of a documentary film about the Short-toed Snake Eagle.
In a pleasant and inspiring atmosphere, participants reflected on the journey undertaken, exchanged experiences and lessons learned, and explored new opportunities for sustainable development, nature conservation, and continued cooperation across the region.
