The second workshop – a focus group for the stakeholders of the KARST ADAPT project – took place in Monfalcone on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
The focus group, coordinated by the Institute of International Sociology – ISIG, was attended by representatives from civil protection, firefighters, municipalities, and other stakeholders from the municipalities of Monfalcone, Duino-Aurisina, and Doberdò del Lago.
During the interactive workshop, participants first contributed to the creation of a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis, prepared an overview and analysis of existing measures related to fires, floods, and hail, and suggested improvements. The result of the workshop will be a brief report summarizing each territory, which will serve as a basis for proposing improvements in this field. The report will be similar to the one prepared by the Slovenian side, which will then be compared and integrated.
Both workshops – from both the Slovenian and Italian sides – proved to be a great opportunity for mutual collaboration and the exchange of experiences among those most actively involved in extraordinary events such as floods, fires, and hail.
