In the first part, participants were introduced to the project’s current activities, the concept for establishing a geopark interpretation centre in Lipica, and the broader developmental context of cross-border cooperation. This was followed by a field experience entitled “In the Footsteps of Kosovel”, during which participants were able to experience a part of the content of the Year of Kosovel through the interpretation of Srečko Kosovel’s poetry—not merely learn about it through the earlier presentation of the results of the Konstrukturizem project.
The event concluded with a round table entitled “Integrated Heritage Interpretation in the Geopark: Challenges and Opportunities for Guides”, featuring representatives of the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation, the Geological Service of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the UNESCO Global Geoparks of Idrija and Karavanke–Karawanken, the Municipality of Sežana, and guide associations from Slovenia and Italy. The discussion highlighted the importance of connecting different types of heritage, as well as the need for continued cross-border cooperation and the further development of guiding activities within the geopark.
