On Thursday, 19 February, an expert event entitled Floods and Instability took place at the University of Udine, organised within the framework of the TORRENT project under the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia Programme. The event brought together numerous experts and researchers from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
The highlight of the event was the scientific seminar entitled “The danger of floods – from a global perspective to local solutions”, delivered by Prof. Günter Blöschl from TU Wien, recipient of the prestigious Stockholm Water Prize 2025. The objectives and results achieved so far within the TORRENT project were also presented during the event.
The discussion was highly stimulating and rich in content. The event confirmed that sharing knowledge, experience, and good practices is essential for effective climate change adaptation and for ensuring the long-term safety and resilience of our territory.
