On May 3rd, 2024, the coordination table of Nova Gorica - Gorizia European Capital of Culture 2025 was held in Gorizia, where representatives of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the Municipality of Gorizia, and EGCT GO gathered to discuss the extensive planning and ongoing investments. The Friuli Venezia Giulia Region is about to experience a historic moment with Go!2025: the initiatives related to ECoC 2025 represent transformative prospects not only for Gorizia, but also for the entire region, particularly for the benefit of young people, who represent our future. The coordination table emphasized the intense preparation and collaboration among local leaders, determined to make Go!2025 an unforgettable experience that enriches the social fabric and economic vitality, leaving a lasting legacy throughout Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The Managing Authority of the Interreg Italy-Slovenia Programme, Laura Comelli, attended the meeting and emphasized that the European Commission has chosen Interreg Italy-Slovenia as a co-leader and its Programme area to host its 2025 Annual Event, which will also be the starting point for reflections on the future of Interreg post 2027. The European Commission has requested that the direction of the event be in the charge of Interreg ITA-SLO, also ensuring qualified political as well as technical participation with the other representatives present. The Interreg Annual Event will thus be one of the flagship events of the year 2025 and will provide a platform for the discussion of important topics in the context of current and future EU cooperation.

The regional administration of Friuli Venezia Region has allocated more than 130 million euros to bring ECoC 2025 to life. All parties involved are committed to ensuring exceptional quality in all Go!2025 projects.
Infrastructure strategies were also discussed at length. Cross-border public transport of Tpl services will be highly improved. In addition, plans for an innovative platform - Mobility as a Service (MaaS) - designed to simplify access to Tpl offerings are being pursued.
In terms of public works associated with Go!2025 events, great strides are being made; in particular, 14 projects under the purview of the Edr of Gorizia will see an investment of more than 23 million euros for their completion.
