Prof. Paolo Sivilotti, University of Udine, has recently participated in two significant conferences, during which he presented the results of the standard Italy-Slovenia 2014-2020 Acquavitis project. In particular, he anticipated the current implementation phases of experimental and demonstrative tests of irrigation and soil management in vineyards in the context of the Interreg Italia – Slovenia 01/2022 Irrigavit Acquavits2 capitalization project.
During the Fifteenth Consultation on viticulture with international participation in Maribor, at the Agricultural Faculty in Slovenia, Prof. Sivilotti explored soil management in depth, focusing on the influence of cover plants and green manure on the water stress of plants, on the properties of soil and the quality of the grapes. The event was part of “Lomberg Days” organized by the Chamber for Agriculture and Forestry, Maribor Agricultural Forestry Institute.
In the second meeting held at the headquarters of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Piacenza, during the final conference of the project "DRIVE LIFE - Tools and techniques to support water resilience in the vineyard", Prof Sivilotti, who is also our coordinator, presented both: Acquavitis and Irrigavit project. The professor, who is also the coordinator of the project, focused his presentation on the Decision Support System (DSS) Vintel ITK, used in irrigation tests during the Acquavitis project, and which we will use in the field monitoring of the water status of vineyards in at least 8 trials starting from March 2024 until the end of 2025.
