Teran wine and prosciutto were the focal points at events organized as part of the Agrotur+ project at the National Wine Exhibition Pramaggiore Blessaglia in the province of Venice. In early May, the Cescot Veneto organization, in collaboration with project partners - ORA Kras and Brkini Ltd., Agricultural Institute of Slovenia, GAL Carso - LAS Kras, University of Trieste, and the University of Nova Gorica - Faculty of Viticulture and Enology, organized events to promote Teran and prosciutto, thereby highlighting the cross-border area of the Karst.
The series of events began on May 3rd with a lecture by Prof. Dr. Sabina Passamonti from the University of Trieste titled "Wine and Health: New Insights." The lecture focused on the relationship between moderate consumption of Teran and health. The main events took place on Friday, May 10th. In the first part, project leader Klemen Lisjak from the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia presented the Agrotur+ project. This was followed by welcome addresses from Gian Angelo Bellati, director of the Cescot Veneto organization, Prof. Dr. Andrej Simončič, director of the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia, Fausto Pivetta, mayor of Pramaggiore, and Vanja Jelen, deputy mayor of Sežana.

A top-notch culinary experience (known as a food lab) then impressed even the most demanding connoisseurs of flavours and aromas. Various ages of prosciutto from Ščuka Prosciutteria paired perfectly with award-winning Terans from members of the Karst Teran Producers Consortium - Orel Winery, Petelin-Rogelja Viticulture and Winemaking, Pri Starčih - Tavčar Winery, and Vinakras Sežana Ltd. In addition, participants were tantalized by Teran from winemaker Budin from Šalež, while winemaker Murva from Moraro in Italy explained the differences between Teran and Refosco. The workshop was led by Robi Jakomin, food and wine consultant, and Vincenzo Di Nuzzo, president of the Italian Federation of Meat Tasters (Onas). Giampiero Rorato, journalist and gastronome, facilitated the program's linkage. We continued with a visit to the local Ai Galli winery. At the closing dinner, over 100 guests, including representatives from tourism agencies in northern Italy, media representatives, and other representatives of the tourism economic sector, were introduced to Karst wines, prosciutto, and Brkini Plum Brandy from producer Franc Jelušič.
