Launch of the BioTiles project: new solutions to enhance lagoon resilience to climate change
The kick-off meeting of the BioTiles project, co-funded by the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia Programme, was held at the headquarters of OGS.
The project “BioTiles – Safeguarding and Enhancing the Resilience of Lagoon Ecosystems to Climate Change through the Application of Innovative and Integrated Methodologies”, coordinated by OGS, aims to develop and test innovative solutions for the protection and regeneration of lagoon ecosystems, which are among the habitats most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
The project brings together Italian and Slovenian partners: OGS, the National Institute of Biology (Slovenia), DOPPS – BirdLife Slovenia, JZKPS – Javni zavod Krajinski park Strunjan, Mimma Dreams APS (Italy), and the Municipality of Grado. Over the next two years, they will work together to promote climate resilience in transitional areas.
