The project presentation meeting for stakeholders took place on September 27, 2025, in the Aula Magna of the Convitto Nazionale Marco Foscarini in Venice. The event, organized by the Lead Partner (LP) Confesercenti metropolitana Venezia Rovigo, was attended by representatives of partners Confartigianato Venezia and the “Sergej Mašera” Museum in Piran. The day opened with greetings from Simone Venturini, Councillor for Tourism and Economic Development of the Municipality of Venice.
During the meeting, in addition to an overview of the entire project, plans for the coming months were illustrated.
These plans are related to the identification and involvement of stakeholders, the development of a shared strategy, and the creation of a Community Map which will be presented during a Transnational Meeting.
During the debate, it was highlighted that thanks to the leading role of local communities, it is possible to integrate tourism and sustainability and revitalize various productive activities without compromising the environmental and identity characteristics of the community. The objective of a tourism product linked to maritime tradition is, in fact, the creation of value for the community, while avoiding the spectacularization or trivialization of local realities.
The initiative, which will be replicated in Slovenia, was highly successful, partly because it was included in “Equilibri”, the independent publishing festival featuring numerous local publishing houses that promote and disseminate the culture and traditions linked to the seafaring life of the Upper Adriatic.
