On Saturday, 31 May 2025, the eStoriaBus set off for Kolovrat and Ragogna, offering participants a complete geo-historical overview of the Italian retreat from the Soča River to Tilment following the Austro-German breakthrough on 24 October 1917. From Kolovrat, participants enjoyed stunning views of the Tolmin and Kobarid basins and the Krn mountain range, as well as a full perspective of the battlefield and the seemingly impregnable Italian defensive positions. In Ragogna, participants visited a museum that highlights a lesser-known but very important episode of the retreat, often mistakenly described as a chaotic flight: the desperate resistance of the Bologna Brigade. The excursion was led by Željko Cimprič and Marco Cimmin.
The June eStoriaBus, the second in the series of excursions along the Soča River, was dedicated to exploring the river and its surrounding areas under the guidance of Andrea Belavite. On 15 June 2025, the journey began at the source of the Soča River and continued through the Trenta Valley. Participants visited the Julius Kugy Monument, the Alpinum Juliana Botanical Garden, and the picturesque ethnological museum in Dom Trenta. After lunch, the tour continued to the village of Soča, with visits to the Austro-Hungarian military cemetery and the Church of Saint Joseph, featuring important frescoes by the artist Tone Kralj. The excursion concluded with a visit to the Great Soča Gorge and the charming tourist town of Bovec.
