On 29 August 2025, an online seminar on aquaponics sustainability was held within the framework of the BeBlue – Beyond Bluegrass project, aimed at disseminating project results to the professional community.
The seminar was organized by KZ Agraria Koper in cooperation with the external partner Verus, KGZS Zavod Kranj and the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana. KZ Agraria prepared the programme and invitation, while project partners delivered the expert presentations.
Following the introductory lecture by Prof. Andrej Udovč, Ana Slatnar presented experiences from the pilot aquaponic system in Ljubljana. Participants were introduced to an economic calculator for aquaponics as a complementary activity, as well as an assessment of the system’s economic sustainability. The seminar also featured video screenings of the virtual tours of the aquaponic systems in Ljubljana and Venice.
The online seminar contributed to the dissemination of knowledge on sustainability aspects, economic feasibility and the integration of aquaponic systems into modern circular agri-food production models.
