To mark World Water Day on 22 March 2026, in collaboration with the Bistrica Fishing Society, an associate partner of the PALLIPES project, we organised a clean-up of the riverbanks and areas surrounding the Reka River.
The event began with a brief presentation of the PALLIPES project, during which participants were introduced to the project’s objectives and main activities. This was followed by a talk by Marjan Govedič, a qualified biologist from the Centre for Fauna and Flora Cartography, entitled ‘The status of the crayfish in the Reka river basin’. Participants were able to learn about the general characteristics of the crayfish, the main threats to this species and the preliminary results of research into its distribution in the Reka river basin, conducted as part of the PALLIPES project.
