On April 16, 2025, Giovanni and Silvia from the partner organization Dolphin Biology and Conservation gave a public talk at the Magredi Livio Poldini Center in San Quirino (Province of Pordenone, Italy), where they presented their work on dolphin research and conservation.
Their lecture, titled "Studying Dolphins in a Changed Mediterranean Sea", highlighted key conservation aspects of the marine environment and provided insights into research efforts that have been ongoing in the Adriatic Sea for over 40 years. A special emphasis was placed on the importance of international collaboration within the SeaInsights project, which connects experts and knowledge across borders.

Among the featured topics was the exchange of photo-identification catalogues with Slovenian colleagues from the Morigenos – Slovenian Marine Mammal Society and the joint analysis of dolphin movements based on individuals identified by both organizations. This cross-border cooperation plays a crucial role in improving our understanding of dolphin behavior and developing more effective conservation strategies.
The audience responded enthusiastically to the presentation, showing great interest in the researchers’ work in marine biology and dolphin conservation. The lively discussion continued well beyond the formal conclusion of the talk.
