On 12 February 2025, the University Iuav of Venice will host the presentation of the outcomes of the master planning workshop ‘Designing Flows and Boundaries’, an activity connected to the project ‘VISIONI INCROCIATE’ (CREW) of the Interreg Italy-Slovenia Programme.
The workshop was an opportunity to hypothesise innovative design solutions to strengthen the tourist attractiveness of the cross-border area of Gorizia and Šempeter-Vrtojba. Starting from the objectives of the CREW project, the design reflection focused on environmental issues, sustainable mobility and services for logistics and travellers. The students were asked to think about three scenarios, i.e. images of the future, where, from time to time, the cross-border area is interpreted as a strategic junction between flows of goods and people, a place of transit for travellers, a territory crossed by environmental risks.
