On Saturday, 28 September 2024, a press conference was held at the Maks Bookstore on the topic of the StoriaBus trips that we are organising in October and November this year as part of the project Beyond Walk of Peace: from Crossborder Historical Research and Cultural Heritage to European Trail and Stories. The èStoriaBus programme includes targeted visits to historically significant sites under the expert guidance of eminent historians and scholars from other fields of the humanities and social sciences. The tours are designed for Slovenian, Italian and international audiences and will be supported by simultaneous translation and multilingual audio guides.
On the first excursion, on Sunday 13 October 2024, participants will visit Kobarid and Tolmin, where they will discover the rich historical and cultural heritage and natural beauty of the area, guided by writer and journalist Andrea Bellavita. The second excursion, dedicated to the exile of the French royal family of Bourbon and their heritage in Gorizia, will take place on 16 November 2024 in cooperation with the Fondazione Palazzo Coronini Cronberg. The latter event will be attended by Jean-Paul Bled, French historian and Professor Emeritus at the University of Paris-Sorbonne, Renato Podbersič, historian, author and researcher at the Study Centre for National Reconciliation in Gorizia, and Cristina Bragaglia, creator and curator of exhibitions and cultural programmes at the Fondazione Palazzo Coronini Cronberg, who will act as spokespersons for the memory.
Further excursions will follow next spring.
