As part of a press tour for journalists aimed at increasing awareness of the activities of the Interreg Italy-Slovenia Ero-STOP project and raising awareness among the cross-border population about climate change and soil erosion, VeGAL, in collaboration with the Municipality of Duino-Aurisima, organized a press conference on March 3 at 10:00 a.m. in the council chamber of the Town Hall.
During the morning, after greetings from Duino-Aurisima Deputy Mayor Mitja Petelin, Engineer Agostino Tommasi, Head of the Heritage and Ordinary Maintenance Department of Municipal Assets, introduced the project, its objectives, and the results achieved to the journalists present. He was followed by Architect Gianluca Bettelle (Erosion Control Group) and geologist Giulio Lauri (co-author of D1.5.1.) provided technical presentations that allowed journalists to fully understand the situation in the karst area, the consequences of climate change, and possible prevention and mitigation actions.
This meeting will therefore facilitate the dissemination of content in Italian and Slovenian media, as has already occurred in previous initiatives in the Eastern Venice area.
This activity is part of a series of meetings and press tours for journalists supervised by the project's expert team.
