On Monday, 29 June 2026, the final press conference of the PRIMIS PLUS – Stories of Multiculturalism: A Sensory Journey through the Prism of Minorities project, co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia Programme 2021–2027, was held at Gravisi-Buttorai Palace in Koper.
The event provided an opportunity to present the project's main activities and the results achieved by the partnership, composed of the Italian Union, Lead Partner of the project, ATS Projekt, the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Veneto Region, the Friulian Philological Society, and the Institute for Ethnic Studies of Ljubljana.
Among the project's main results are the strengthening of the network of Multimedia Centres dedicated to the national and linguistic communities of the cooperation area, including the enhancement of the "Gravisi" Italian Multimedia Centre in Koper through a new multimedia station dedicated to Castel Leone and a new visual identity, as well as the opening of new multimedia centres in Ljubljana, Udine and Gorizia; a cross-border tourism strategy for the promotion of the heritage of national and linguistic communities; cultural, scientific and educational outputs (ethnographic documentaries, a scientific article and a bilingual workbook for schools); and the results of the cascade funding scheme, which supported numerous initiatives dedicated to promoting the Friulian language and culture in the territories involved in the project.
The conference represented not only the conclusion of the project, but also an opportunity to highlight the value of cross-border cooperation as a key tool for promoting, enhancing and improving access to the cultural and linguistic heritage of national and linguistic communities, creating new opportunities for cooperation and joint initiatives in the fields of culture and tourism.
