On Tuesday, April 8th, 2025, the Study Visit of the RECREATE project took place in Pordenone and Aviano.
The visit brought together Italian and Slovenian companies and institutions interested in exploring sustainable solutions for CFR waste management and discussing environmental regulations in both countries, with particular focus on import/export procedures, traceability, and the valorisation of recycled materials.
The event began at the Upper Adriatic Technology Park in Pordenone with a narrative presentation outlining the project milestones achieved so far and the next steps to be carried out. The delegation then visited the Gees Recycling plant in Aviano, a project partner specialized in the recycling of composite materials, where innovative processes for the treatment and transformation of waste into new products were demonstrated.
A highlight of the day was the presentation of the prototype of an urban waste bin made from recycled CFR material, one of the demonstrative products developed within the project and already adopted by the Municipality of Spinea, a public partner of the project.
Thanks to the collaboration between producers, recyclers, public administrations, and economic actors, RECREATE stands as a concrete example of cross-border cooperation and a replicable good practice for other European regions committed to the transition to a circular economy.
