The main objectives of the TORRENT project are to establish shared and transnational guidelines to monitor the status and functionality of torrent control works, to evaluate the long-term effectiveness of structures and prioritising the maintenance interventions and improving the watershed management strategies.
The most important results produced in 2025 are the historical databases of “Torrent control structures,” “pilot basin management actions,” “remote sensing data” and the “protocol for data access and sharing”. Finally, the “maps highlighting geomorphological changes” and a “Maintenance Priority index” were produced for the structures in the pilot basins.
