As part of the POSEIDONE project's awareness-raising campaign on green and blue infrastructure, VeGAL organised a double event in the Bandiziol Pressacon lowland forest in San Stino di Livenza (VE). OnSaturday 21 September 2024 at 5.30 p.m., the ‘Flora and Fauna of the Wood’ event was held in the San Stino di Livenza forest, dedicated to the discovery and enhancement of the lowland forest of San Stino di Livenza.
During the event, forestry technician Dr. Marco Abordi spoke in front of a room full of people of all ages about the origins and characteristics of the forest, illustrating the results of the monitoring carried out in the forest during the first phase of the project, immersing us in the richness of the flora and fauna of this precious environment.
The event was also an opportunity to promote the first ‘POSEIDONE RUN’, a recreational-sports march to raise awareness on the issue of biodiversity and to promote environmentally sustainable motor activities, which took place on 6 October 2024. Those present were given a ‘PODEIDONE RUN’ t-shirt. The march was part of the ‘Marcia dea Livenza’, now in its eighth edition, organised to raise funds to donate to the volunteer organisation La Rosa Blu of San Stino di Livenza. Three routes were planned, of 7, 12 and 19 kilometres, with a free start from 8.30 to 10.00. A beautiful sunny day ensured the success of the event with 450 participants and 50 volunteers from the organisation.
