On 17 April 2025, representatives of the SeaInsights project partner DivjaLabs d.o.o. took part in the networking event Seas and Coasts for Healthy and Prosperous Societies: Blue Economy, Biodiversity, Climate Change, held at the Centre for Humanities ZRS Koper in Slovenia.
The event was organised as part of the KRPAN initiative—aimed at supporting research performance in European projects—and co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union under the NextGenerationEU programme.
Project SeaInsights was represented by dr. Aleksandra Majić Skrbinšek and Gregor Simčič, who participated in the event’s structured matchmaking sessions and open networking opportunities and presented DivjaLabs' expertise in genetic and genomic research relevant to biodiversity and marine ecosystem monitoring.
These capabilities are directly relevant to several ongoing and upcoming funding programmes discussed at the event, including Horizon Europe, Interreg, and LIFE.
The Koper event provided a platform for cross-sectoral exchange among research institutions, government agencies, and private sector stakeholders. Keynote and expert sessions focused on integrating biodiversity, blue economy, and climate action in European coastal regions. This was followed by pitching sessions, one-on-one meetings, and informal networking, fostering new potential partnerships.
DivjaLabs’ participation strengthened the visibility of the SeaInsights project and its role in promoting data-driven approaches to marine and coastal sustainability.
