As part of the LOGICA project, a meeting of representatives from municipalities, development institutions, and experts in spatial planning, agriculture, and regional development was held on 12 June 2026 at the Perspektiva Business Incubator in Veliki Otok.
The purpose of the meeting was to stimulate discussion on the challenges that climate change poses for the region and to jointly identify measures that could contribute to greater resilience of the local environment.
Participants were introduced to the LOGICA project, which, within the framework of the Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme, promotes the integration of climate considerations into spatial and development planning and strengthens the capacity of local communities to adapt to climate change.
An important part of the meeting was dedicated to presenting and assessing potential adaptation measures in the areas of water management, agriculture, spatial planning, and landscape conservation. Through a group voting process, participants identified the measures they considered the most important and feasible for the region.
The measures receiving the greatest support were:
- Maintenance and cleaning of watercourses;
- Planting of agricultural crops and species that are more resilient to climate change;
- Rainwater collecting for use in agriculture, households, and public facilities.
The discussion highlighted that water management remains one of the key areas for climate change adaptation in the region. Participants also emphasized the importance of adapting agricultural practices, improving water retention in the landscape, ensuring proper infrastructure maintenance, and strengthening cooperation among municipalities, professional institutions, and other stakeholders.
The meeting represents one of the steps in the preparation of recommendations and measures that, within the framework of the LOGICA project, will contribute to the long-term climate resilience of the crossborder region.
