On 4 December 2025, the Steering Committee meeting for the T4RAIL IT-SI project took place at the SŽ-Infrastruktura headquarters in Ljubljana. Implemented under the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia programme, the project focuses on the digitalisation of communication in rail transport across the border area, bringing together partners from both countries to improve interoperability, sustainability, and competitiveness in the railway sector.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the progress of the project, which is currently at 70 %, and discussed the key tasks planned ahead of its completion in April 2026. Representatives of the project partners presented updates on their activities, highlighting achievements such as the adaptation of the T4RAIL tool to partner systems, the training of the staff based on the developed training curricula, the preparation of communication materials and the first phase of non-operational testing. Upcoming tasks include the risk assessment report, the Memorandum of Understanding for joint experimentation and operational testing.
The Committee also addressed the organization of the final conference, scheduled to take place on 15 April 2026 in Ljubljana, as well as the project’s financial and administrative aspects. Partners examined potential changes to the work plan and budget, agreeing on measures to ensure the project’s successful implementation.
The meeting of the Steering Committee represents an important step forward in the project’s implementation and contributes to its successful realisation, promising significant benefits for the rail sector and for cross-border cooperation between the two countries.
