From 12 to 15 May, the winning students of the Students4Cooperation competition, an initiative of the Interreg Italy-Slovenia programme, took part in a study visit to Brussels as a prize for their first-place project.
The trip, organised as a prize for the first-place project, offered the students an engaging programme of visits and activities focused on European institutions and European history. Accompanied by Programme colleagues Erika Kosic and Nasya Skerk, the students travelled from Trieste to Brussels on 12 May and had the opportunity to explore the city and visit the Brussels Liaison Office of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
During their stay, the students visited the European Commission, where they attended presentations on how the European Union works, on cohesion policy and on the role of Interreg programmes. They also visited the European Parliament and took part in the “Hemicycle Talk” experience, learning more about the work of the Parliament and its representatives.
The programme also included visits to the House of European History and the Atomium, one of Brussels’ most iconic landmarks.
The study visit ended on 15 May with the group returning to Italy after four days full of meetings, discoveries and shared experiences. The trip was both an educational and inspiring experience, allowing the students to gain a deeper understanding of Europe and the importance of cooperation between neighbouring territories.
