The Jožef Češčut Cultural Center in Savogna d'Isonzo hosted, as part of the cross-border project BEroots – Between Rivers and Lagoons: Artistic Routes, a theatrical evening filled with laughter and joy. Performing before a packed house was the theater company Ga pihnemo, which operates under the auspices of the Podnanos Tourist Association. The company, which has been active and successful since 2006 and regularly fills theaters throughout Slovenia, made its debut before a cross-border audience with the comedy Sekret.
After a series of amusing twists and comical situations, the two families decide to build a shared bathroom in a shed. True chaos erupts at midnight when two villagers decide to play a prank and place a straw doll in the newly built bathroom. The dynamic performance thrilled numerous spectators, who rewarded the actors with thunderous laughter and prolonged applause.
The cultural event was organized by the Municipality of Savogna d'Isonzo in close collaboration with the Slovenian Regional Economic Association (SDGZ-URES) and the Savogna Cultural Association. The play was performed in Slovenian with Italian subtitles, and the entire evening was part of the BEroots project, co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia program.
Deputy Mayor Alenka Florenin welcomed the audience at the start of the event: "I am delighted to welcome you to tonight’s event, which is part of our cross-border project. A sincere thank you to the theater company for this wonderful performance. Events like this only further confirm how essential ongoing collaboration is between municipalities and cultural associations on both sides of the border. In this regard, I am pleased to invite you now to our next major BEroots project event, which will take place at the ASŠD Vipava Sports Center in Peci. There, we will hold a ceremony to celebrate the anniversary of the restoration of the administrative autonomy of the Municipality of Savogna d'Isonzo and officially sign the letter of intent for the twinning with the Municipality of Vipava, which represents an extremely important step forward in strengthening our cross-border ties and in the closer integration of local communities."
