TORRENT Project Workshop in Paluzza Brought Together Experts in Watershed Management
The event gathered 21 participants, including project partners, researchers, and experts from Italy and Slovenia. Following the institutional welcome addresses by Italian and Slovenian representatives, Federico Cazorzi and Sara Cucchiaro from the Università degli Studi di Udine presented the toolkit for monitoring and analysing mountain basins.
Later, Maurizio Kratter shared experiences related to field surveys of hydraulic-forestry structures and presented innovative approaches for monitoring mountain torrent areas.
The practical part of the workshop was originally planned in the Moscardo torrent basin, where participants were expected to explore surveying methods for hydraulic and forestry structures and the use of drone-based LiDAR technology. Due to adverse weather conditions, the workshop activities were carried out indoors.
The event once again highlighted the importance of cross-border cooperation between Italy and Slovenia in watershed management and in addressing environmental and climate challenges.
