The Interreg Italy–Slovenia WABIN project took center stage in Rome on May 16, 2026, during the National Council of UNARGA – the National Union of Journalists for Agriculture, Food and Environment, hosted at the national headquarters of FNSI – the Italian National Federation of the Press.
During the meeting, journalists attending the event were introduced to some of the main results and activities developed within the WABIN project, with particular attention given to initiatives focused on raising awareness about water and environmental sustainability.
One of the main focuses of the presentation concerned the two Special Sections of the Wigwam Italian Press Award dedicated to the theme of water, promoted with the support of UNARGA and FNSI, partners of the initiative.
Special emphasis was also placed on the participation of young people under 25, who actively contributed through articles, in-depth analyses, and activities carried out both individually and within the CEP – Participatory Experience Workshops. Their contributions enriched the project with new perspectives, sensitivity, and content, confirming the value of involving younger generations in active citizenship and water resource protection initiatives.
The event represented an important opportunity for discussion and dissemination at the national level, helping to expand the network of stakeholders interested in sustainable water management and cross-border cooperation between Italy and Slovenia.
