On August 6th, 2025, Shoreline (Saul Ciriaco) and Dolphin Biology and Conservation (Giovanni Bearzi), both partners of the INTERREG project SeaInsights, together with the renowned marine mammal expert Giuseppe Notarbartolo di Sciara, participated as speakers in a public event organized in Trieste by the Marine Protected Area of Miramare.
The event, held during the Barcolana — “the largest sailing race in the world” — was attended by around 200 people. Ciriaco, Bearzi, and Notarbartolo di Sciara shared Stories of Mediterranean Cetaceans, a talk moderated by Maurizio Spoto, Director of the Miramare Marine Protected Area.

It was an enjoyable opportunity to present part of the work carried out within the SeaInsights project, including environmental DNA sampling and the study of dolphin movements between Italy and Slovenia.
