On Tuesday, October 14, a workshop was held at the historic Palazzo Lantieri in Gorizia, dedicated to the municipalities located along the cross-border Walk of Peace trail.
After a welcome coffee, Nicola Revelant, project manager for PromoTurismoFVG, presented the draft of a Letter of Intent addressed to the municipalities situated along the route. The municipalities will be able to sign it to promote more effective management and a shared enhancement of the trail.
The document aims to improve the management and promotion of the cross-border path, fostering a shared and participatory vision among all stakeholders involved.
The morning also featured other presentations, including one by Lorenza Salati and Giulio Foccardi from Osun Wes, who introduced a platform/tool currently under development designed to facilitate more integrated trail management through the involvement of local stakeholders and institutions. Leon Čertrič from the Fundacija Pot Miru presented the organization’s achievements and the new challenges it will undertake in the coming months.
To conclude the morning session, two concrete examples of trails that have become successful tourist products—one Italian and one Slovenian—were showcased: Alberto Conte presented the Cammino di Oropa, while Martin Šolar introduced the Juliana Trail.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness among municipalities and provide practical tools for building a stable network of actors committed to the protection, promotion, and enhancement of the Walk of Peace.
The morning concluded with a convivial moment: a light lunch in the garden of Palazzo Lantieri, offering participants an opportunity for informal discussions and exchange of idea
