On May 15, 2025, the RECREATE project made a stop in Spinea (VE) with a special meeting dedicated to the members of the Youth City Council. The event, held in the City Council Hall, was a meaningful opportunity for dialogue between institutions, schools, and the younger generations, focusing on key topics such as the environment, recycling, and the circular economy. It was a moment of concrete and inspired exchange, with a strong focus on the future of the local area and the shared responsibility of building more sustainable communities.
During the meeting, the local results of the RECREATE project—co-financed by the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia Programme—were presented. The project promotes circular models for managing fibre-reinforced composite (FRC) waste. The initiative actively involved primary and lower secondary schools in the area, with many classes enthusiastically participating in a collection and awareness campaign supported by students, teachers, and families.
The event also featured original multimedia content, including interviews and video testimonials created by teachers, offering an authentic insight into the work carried out in classrooms and throughout the community.
The young city council members shared ideas, values, feedback, and good practices that emerged during the activities, demonstrating a strong environmental awareness and a deep motivation to contribute personally to change.
This initiative once again confirmed the importance of civic engagement among younger generations—not only as recipients of educational projects, but as true active protagonists of their community’s ecological future.
