Poseidon offers a new opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, learn more about our territories and reflect on the value of coastal biodiversity. The excursion organised by the POSEIDONE project for Saturday 4 October will take us to an unexpected corner of nature between the sea and the river and explore one of the most evocative and biodiverse places on the Venetian coast: the Bosco della Lecceta di Bibione, up to the Faro area, where the sea meets the mouth of the Tagliamento river.
The approximately three-hour route will wind through fossil dunes, pine forests, ponds, paths among orchids and breathtaking views, along a flat stretch suitable for everyone: nature lovers, families and curious walkers. Crossing wooden bridges, we will encounter holm oaks, maritime pines, oaks, but also rare species such as fairy flax, with its characteristic silvery bristles, and delicate wild orchids. There will also be encounters with local fauna: green lizards, birds, tortoises and other inhabitants of this fragile coastal ecosystem.
The excursion will include the beautiful area of the Bibione Lighthouse, from where you can observe the embrace between the fresh waters of the Tagliamento River and the Adriatic Sea. For those participating, the meeting point is in front of the International agency in Via Procione n. 52 in Bibione at 9:45 am.
Places are limited and registration is required (max. 20 people). Please fill in this form or write to eventi@alterevo.eu by 2 October.
If requested, bilingual support in Italian and Slovenian will be provided.
What to bring: comfortable layered clothing, rain jacket/cape, hiking or sports shoes, water, snack, insect repellent.
