The events of POSEIDONE – Biodiversity and Territories on Stage continue, the programme that brings together nature, culture and communities in Eastern Veneto. The fifth event of the project will take place on World Biodiversity Day, with a special visit to the Bosco delle Lame, one of the most significant green areas for biodiversity conservation in our region. On Sunday 18 May 2025, participants will enjoy an afternoon dedicated to discovering the Bosco delle Lame, a place that symbolises renaturalisation and biodiversity protection.

On Sunday 18 May 2025, participants will enjoy an afternoon dedicated to discovering the Bosco delle Lame, a place that symbolises renaturalisation and biodiversity protection. Located in Sindacale di Concordia Sagittaria, the Bosco delle Lame covers approximately 33 hectares within a vast reclaimed agricultural area. Between 1997 and 1999, it was the subject of a major reforestation project and subsequently, an intervention to create an 8-hectare wetland designed to promote biodiversity. Inside, you can admire maple, ash, hornbeam, alder, white and black poplar trees, which transform the landscape into a natural oasis nestled among the agricultural fields of the Veneto region.

The fauna that populates this area is equally rich: you can encounter squirrels, hares, foxes, pheasants, marsh harriers, swans and roe deer. The Bosco delle Lame is also home to over 300 species of nesting birds, making it one of the most important wildlife repopulation areas in the region.

The event on 18 May has two meeting points: at 4.30 pm for those arriving on foot (square in front of the church of San Giuseppe Operaio in Sindacale) or at 5 pm for those arriving at the woods by bike.

The day will consist of a guided walk of about 4 km through the paths of the woods , followed by a forest bathing activity: an immersive experience of listening and connecting with nature, useful for rediscovering slower and more regenerating rhythms. At the end, there will be a creative guerrilla gardening workshop, during which participants will make “seed bombs” , small symbolic gestures to promote the spread of biodiversity.

If requested, bilingual support in Italian and Slovenian will be provided.
