The Regional Development Agency ROD Ajdovščina will host an event on March 27, 2025, as part of the capitalization project Bee2gether, bringing together experts, researchers, and beekeepers from Slovenia and Italy. The event will provide insights into innovations and practices that contribute to the sustainable development of beekeeping and the preservation of bees, key pollinators in the ecosystem.
Event Program
After registration and opening remarks, the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia will present a study on the impact of emulsifiers as alternative thinning agents for apple fruitlets on honeybees. This will be followed by a presentation from the National Institute of Biology, which will highlight environmental monitoring using solitary bees. The president of the Beekeeping Association J. Vodopivec Ajdovščina - Vipava will introduce the activities of the association.
Next, Veneto Agricoltura will showcase the use of electronic beehives within the Bee2gether project, focusing on modern technologies for monitoring and managing beekeeping practices. Subsequently, the Polo Tecnologico Alto Adriatico will present the Bee2gether application, which facilitates networking among beekeepers.
In the afternoon, a visit to the Lisjak Beekeeping farm is scheduled, where beekeeper Milan Lisjak will introduce his sustainable beekeeping methods, providing participants with an opportunity to gain hands-on insight into practical operations.
The event is part of a broader project that includes study visits between Italian and Slovenian agricultural enterprises that have implemented pilot actions. These visits will allow stakeholders from one country to learn about the work of their counterparts in the other, enhancing knowledge and experience among agricultural holdings while establishing long-term connections for future experience exchange.
The Bee2gether event in Ajdovščina represents a unique opportunity for those interested in the future of beekeeping, environmental changes, and the use of new technologies.
The event will be held in Italian and Slovenian.
