On 30 September 2025, at the Villa Belvedere Theatre in Mirano (Venice), the third training course for journalists and stakeholders took place, within the programme of the 2025 Water Festival, under the title “The Shapes of Water”.
The initiative, organised within the framework of the European project Interreg Italy–Slovenia WABIN, provided a comprehensive overview of the water networks in Veneto – irrigation, drinking water, hydroelectric and navigable – analysing their current state, functions, challenges and future prospects. During the morning, the WABIN project was also presented, addressing the challenge of the transboundary water balance of hydrogeological basins through integrated methodologies and climate change adaptation strategies.
At the centre of the debate, water was recognised as a common good and a strategic resource, essential for the sustainable development of territories and the quality of life of local communities.
The course was co-organised by A.R.G.A.V. – Association of Agri-food and Environmental Journalists of Veneto, in collaboration with the Order of Journalists of Veneto, the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservators of Venice, and the Order of Engineers of Venice. The event, aimed at professionals but also open to the general public, was valid for the acquisition of training credits for participating journalists.
