Within the AI-GRAPE project, we use special cameras that allow us to see the vineyard in a completely new way. Thanks to multispectral and thermal imaging, we can detect things invisible to the naked eye.
Multispectral camera
A normal RGB photo of the vineyard does not show many differences. On the NDVI image, obtained with a multispectral camera, the contrasts are clear: red areas indicate less vigorous vegetation, while green areas show stronger growth. This helps us identify zones that need more attention.
Thermal camera
Thermal images reveal temperature differences in the vineyard. The tilled soil between rows is warmer than the untilled soil, while no major differences can be observed on the vines themselves. These insights provide valuable information about the impact of soil management and support more sustainable grape production.
