La Autumn School di ALL-MICRO rafforza la formazione transfrontaliera in microscopia
The ALL-MICRO consortium held its October coordination meeting online, chaired by Gabriele Baj, to review project reporting, prepare for a regional audit, and highlight recent visibility events including Tec4I-FVG’s anniversary in Udine, the International Microscopy Meeting in Portorož, and the project’s contribution to the Trieste Next science festival.
Preparations are underway for the upcoming Winter School on Electron Microscopy, now announced on the project portal.
Project partners were encouraged to promote the forthcoming Winter School within doctoral programmes, while completed deliverables will be submitted with the next reporting cycle in March 2026.
The Autumn School on Optical Microscopy took place from 15–17 October at the University of Trieste, organised with support from CIMA and CNR-IOM. Fifteen young researchers from Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia joined lectures, poster sessions, short talks, and hands-on laboratory activities. Topics included super-resolution imaging, confocal and multiphoton microscopy, quantitative imaging, and image-analysis software. Industry experts provided insights into advanced instrument design.
Interactive poster sessions and a networking dinner fostered collaboration across institutions and disciplines. Afternoon laboratory rotations offered practical experience with high-content imaging, multiphoton systems, and confocal microscopes, allowing participants to compare data-acquisition strategies.
“The school successfully met its training objectives and strengthened regional links,” organisers noted, adding that participants praised the scientific quality, practical relevance, and collaborative atmosphere. Several expressed interest in future editions.
