On Saturday, September 23, cross-border appointment with a rich program of cross-border activities. For the Interreg Poseidon project, it will be Miramare that will offer a workshop for children and families on the biodiversity of the coastal environment.
WWF AMP MIRAMARE will participate in the INTERREG COOPERATION DAY - the European Day dedicated to INTERREG cooperation that will take place on Saturday 23 at the Kosovelov dom in Sežana with a rich program of cross-border Italy-Slovenia initiatives.
The event, organized by the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Program in cooperation with the Projects KRAS-CARSO II, ADRIONCYCLETOUR, POSEIDONE and KARST-SAFE, will include outdoor excursions, guided tours in the Karst area, exhibition stalls and presentations on cross-border projecting, recreational workshops and many other initiatives dedicated to all citizens of the Area-Program.
This will be a new opportunity for the Marine Area to bring the INTERREG ITA-SLO POSEIDONE PROJECT to the public's attention, thanks to a special event dedicated to families: "A PUZZLE OF STORIES BETWEEN SEA AND KARST," a children's workshop on the theme of mussel farming and the connection between the marine and karst-coastal terrestrial environment.
Families with children ages 6 to 10 will be accompanied by WPA Miramare biologists to discover the mussel beds of the Gulf of Trieste through a new and dynamic play-educational activity to learn about a special environment created by man but rich in life, in which marine animals but also many birds find here food, shelter and a safe place to stop and rest.
An animated reading will guide children in search of the story's protagonists on a beautiful colorful poster, full of adventures but also dangers that threaten their survival, such as pollution in the sea, but they will learn that much can be done to make a contribution to the health of the environment. WWF experts will tell some interesting facts about the animals that live between the sea and Karst, such as mollusks, starfish, fish, birds and much more, and that are linked to the mussel farm environment, the real focus of a series of initiatives curated by WWF AMP Miramare for the POSEIDONE project.
The proposed activities will be bilingual, Italian and Slovenian, and reservations are required. For the full program of proposed initiatives and to register, please refer to the following link https://www.ita-slo.eu/it/notizie-ed-eventi/notizie/iscrizioni-aperte-interreg-cooperation-day-2023
