On March 26, 2025, the Circular Rainbow project was proudly and enthusiastically represented at the Go-Youth Event! held in Gorizia, organized by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy – Representation in Italy (EU REGIO Interreg) and the Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme.
Our project was presented by a team of young researchers and technicians from various partner organizations:
- Živa Muršič and Manca Bartol (KGZS – ZAVOD KRANJ),
- Michele Libralato, Davide Paolin, and Margherita Cuzzit (University of Udine – DI4A),
- Luca Bacco and Giuseppe Saladini (Bluefarm).
The presence of young talents and the commitment to gender equality were central values for our team, who passionately presented their contributions to the project and introduced emerging professions in the aquaculture sector.
At a dedicated exhibition stand, our representatives demonstrated how Circular Rainbow integrates and promotes the principles of circular economy, digitalization, and sustainability, with the goal of strengthening and innovating the aquaculture sector in the Italy–Slovenia cross-border area.
A special thanks goes to Živa Muršič and Michele Libralato, who effectively showcased to other participants and European authorities how the project supports the development of new professional profiles such as the "Next Generation Trout Farmer," "Bio-systems Modelist," and "Biomass Energy Engineer"—all identified and defined by the young people involved in the project. To engage with younger audiences, the students created virtual game-style cards to present each professional figure in an accessible and engaging way.
We are proud of our strong and dynamic partnership: together, we work to renew aquaculture through an approach that combines vocational training, technological innovation, and environmental responsibility, benefitting both future generations and the regions involved.
