On September 17th, 2024 at the Tartini Conservatory of music in Trieste took place the last concert of the Interreg Cooperation Day 2024 celebrations that were organised by the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Programme together with the TARTINI BIS project. The concert entitled Music and Cooperation: Interreg Italy-Slovenia in Concert with the Cross-Border Orchestra featured the musicians of the Tartini Cross Border Youth Orchestra, which was created as part of the TARTINI BIS project. The orchestra is composed by more than 20 young musicians under 30 from Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro. Under the direction of maestro Federico Guglielmo, they performed six pieces of classical music inspired by Giuseppe Tartini, to which the projects tARTini and TARTINI BIS are dedicated.
The president of the Conservatorio Tartini Daniela Dado gave the introductory greetings. ‘The TARTINI BIS project is a very important project in the context of cooperation because this type of activities bring young people closer to cooperation through concrete actions,’ emphasised the Managing Authority of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Programme 2021-2027 Laura Comelli, who also recalled the importance of the Interreg Cooperation Day as an opportunity to emphasise cooperation as one of the most pressing elements of cohesion. The technical manager of the TARTINI BIS project Ugo Poli applauded the success of Interreg programmes that directly connect citizens and institutions that were previously divided by borders. He also stressed that the Tartini Cross Border Youth Orchestra is an excellent example of cooperation between young people from different states, including the Balkans. President Claudio Mansutti spoke on behalf of the Bon Foundation that took care of the composition of the orchestra.
The Interreg 2024 Cooperation Day celebrations were organised in cooperation with the TARTINI BIS project and involved four classical music concerts with the Tartini Cross Border Youth Orchestra held in Piran, Moggio Udinese, Venice and Trieste.
