In April, a cross-border focus workshop on addressing erosion in non-urban areas took place at the premises of the Regional Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Ajdovščina.
The workshop was organized as part of an awareness-raising campaign aimed at enhancing knowledge and awareness within local communities about the challenges posed by climate change and erosion.
The event brought together a range of stakeholders, including agricultural landowners, civil protection representatives, experts, advisors, and members of the general public, contributing to a comprehensive perspective on the challenges and opportunities related to erosion mitigation.
In the first part of the event, participants were introduced to the key activities of Slovenian project partners, including the results of pilot activities in the pilot areas and the draft Action Plan for preventive and remediation measures, which addresses two types of erosion in the cross-border region.
The event offered participants an opportunity for interactive discussion within the focus workshop, which also involved members of the Cross-Border Expert Group. Various target groups presented their approaches and views on the existing procedures. Together, we co-created a SWOT analysis, which will serve as the foundation for future strategic planning in the fight against erosion.
The workshop successfully contributed to a deeper understanding of the topic and strengthened collaboration among Slovenian stakeholders.
