Last month, on May 8, 2025, we took part in the main Europe Day event in Ljubljana, Slovenia, upon the invitation of the European Commission. The Walk of Peace Foundation from the Soča Valley presented the transnational Walk of Peace initiative and the European Interreg projects (BeWoP, WALKofPEACE+, and GOV4PeaCE), in which we are actively involved. We were joined by the Kobarid Museum and the Soča Valley Development Centre.
Visitors were able to get information, take part in interactive games, and talk to representatives of the participating organizations. We were greeted by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, Minister for Cohesion Dr. Aleksander Jevšek, and Head of the European Commission Representation in Slovenia, Dr. Jerneja Jug Jerše. On the main stage, a special "European Wheel of Fortune" took place, offering a fun and educational presentation of all participating partners' work.
The evening concluded with a lively concert by Leopold I and his guest performers.
Our stand attracted many visitors – the memory of the First World War's heritage sparked a lot of interest, and guests could also try out a memory game themed around the Walk of Peace from the Alps to the Adriatic.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by – we are happy that together we spread the message of peace, cooperation, and European values!
