The final conference of the CO ADRIA project, co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Program, was held on March 3 in the Silvio Trentin lecture hall at the Ca' Dolfin campus of Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
The CO ADRIA project – North Adriatic EGTC to promote climate neutrality by 2050: strategic initiatives for energy efficiency in the region – has brought together cross-border partners in recent years with the aim of developing concrete solutions to improve energy efficiency and accelerate the transition to a climate-neutral society.
The conference was opened by Sandy Petrossi, representative of the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg Italy-Slovenia Program, who stressed the importance of such strategic cross-border initiatives and highlighted, on behalf of the program, the role of projects such as CO ADRIA in strengthening institutional cooperation and providing a common response to climate challenges.
On behalf of the lead partner, Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Professor Carlo Bagnoli, scientific director of the project, Filippo Prataviera, project manager, and Silvia Gastaldo, researcher, spoke about the importance of the interdisciplinary approach, the coordinated action of the partners, and the long-term impact of the project's results on the northern Adriatic region.
This was followed by presentations by the project partners and their role in the project, which gave participants a comprehensive overview of the structure of the cooperation and the contribution of the individual institutions. Subsequently, the working group leaders presented the activities carried out, the results achieved, and concrete case studies confirming the effectiveness of the cooperation model developed and the implementation of solutions in the field of energy efficiency.
The discussion at the end of the event confirmed that cross-border cooperation is essential for effectively planning sustainable energy strategies and achieving the goal of climate neutrality by 2050.
The event concluded with an informal meeting between partners and stakeholders over a light lunch, which provided an opportunity to continue the exchange of experiences and formulate new initiatives for future cooperation.
The CO ADRIA project thus successfully concludes an important chapter of cross-border cooperation and lays a solid foundation for further strategic initiatives in the field of energy efficiency and sustainable development in the region.
