On Sunday, 13 October 2024, the first èStoriaBus BeWoP "Discovering the Soča - between KOBARID and TOLMIN" took place, as the first of four events dedicated to the Soča River. The participants were accompanied by writer and journalist Andrea Bellavite, author of the text "L'Isonzo", published in 2014 by LEG.
The 95 participants travelled from Gorizia by two buses to Kobarid, where they visited the Italian ossuary and the archaeological site of Tonocov Grad. After a refreshing lunch at Gostilna Tolminska korita in Tolmin, they listened to a fascinating story told by the former director of the Planika Dairy, Anka Lipušček Miklavič, about the village of Zatolmin, the shepherds of the Krn pastures and the production of the excellent Tolminc cheese. They continued their journey with a visit to the natural wonder of the Tolminka gorge, passing by the impressive Dante's Cave. Finally, there was a stop at the Tolmin Museum, where the day ended with a poem by Simon Gregorčič on the way out.
In addition to the live presentations by Andrea Bellavite at points of interest, during the bus ride visitors could also listen to the audio files of the audio guide created especially for the excursion (the content was prepared and recorded by Andrea Bellavite and then translated into Slovene and English).
Further Soca discovery trips are planned in the spring from the source in the Trenta Valley to Kobarid, from Most na Soči to Kanal and Solkan the following autumn, and in spring 2026 in Gradisca d'Isonzo, San Canzian d'Isonzo and Isola della Cona.
